A Chinese steamed green tea!?! We specialize in unique, tasting grade Chinese tea. Jie Cha with its unparalleled material, unique cultivar and ancient process is the perfect example of such a tea!
The Terroir
In his heart, the tea sage Lu Yu’s always considered Guzhu Zi Sun the best tea. Among all the micro-terroirs of Zi Sun, Mingyue Xia is considered the best thanks to its unique and unparalleled environment. Nestled in savagely wild terrain between two mountains with a brook meandering through the valley, it is the perfect place for growing tea.
The Leaf
The ancient gardens continue to thrive as wild tea plants, the place where they grow long since abandoned due to its inaccessibility. The Mingyue Xia tea plants are the local ancient cultivar and they are completely unattended, not even plucked unless there is a specific order for a premium tea to be made.
The Process
Resurrected from an ancient tea making process called Jie Cha, the kill green is achieved by steaming. Add to that a multitude of other steps, much more complicated than modern green tea making, and the result will absolutely amaze you. If you think you know steamed green tea, make no assumptions. The description here cannot do the tea justice. Prepare for a delightful surprise!
Pristine terroir, top-notch wild material and a historic process resurrected by a tea master able to deliver every ounce (jin?) of flavour that Lu Yu would have expected. This entirely handmade tea will elate your taste buds!
