These sheng Pu’er mini-tuo are a perfect everyday sip of sheng Pu’er. The compact mini-puck offeres hints of barnyard that are tangy, fresh and bright. Be sure to let your first infusion sit long enough to reveal the light orange liquor. I detected a hint of sweetness in the first couple of infusions along with a more obvious barnyard typical of sheng Pu’er. I was impressed at the smoothness and drinkability of this young Pu’er and look forward to seeing how it ages. Later infusions those teasing sweet notes gave way to unsweetened red bean notes, still mixed with that fermented wet hay vibe from earlier. As for mouthfeel, refreshing, bright and clean, becoming thicker as the infusions continue. I was impressed with the number of infusions this small Sheng Pu’er mini-tuo yielded, 10 for us in an 80mL gaiwan (use a bigger one if you can 😉 )
