This aged shu Pu’er had a hint of smokiness when we smelled the dry leaves in a warmed gaiwan, however, the liquor’s characteristic was more of an earthy woody flavor with a hint of mineral sweetness, all well balanced and smooth. The mouthfeel was also smooth and finished with a hint of crispness towards the end. Although we tasted this tea in the morning, the next time I try this tea will be right before bed. It had an incredibly relaxing and mellowing effect on my mood that, while pleasant in the warm morning sun, would be even more delightful just before bed.
