From start to finish this Aged Gu Shu Sheng Pu’er delivered an experience that cannot be forgotten, but will prove difficult to capture with words.
The age of the tea shines through not only in the incredible thickness of the liquor from the first infusion to the last, but also in the flavor and feel of the tea. It has a smokiness that isn’t from roasting or smoking but comes from the age of the tea. It captures the palate more subtly and is blended with the essence of the jungle. It is integrated with elements of hay, barnyard, and fresh sweat and is accompanied by a strong return sweet, allowing this complex mixture of aged flavors to persist with your senses for ages. On the one hand, you can’t wait for the next sip, but on the other hand, what’s the rush, it’s still with you.
Our first infusion of Aged Gu Shu Shen Pu’er was slightly light but still presented excellently and the thick mouthfeel was immediately evident. By the fourth infusion, the tea was absolutely singing! It had a dignified intensity, bold but not brash. Like confidence, or certainty. A sturdy robustness. The softness granted by its age ensured everything was harmonious.
Each sip of this tea pulled us into the moment and further away from descriptive tasting notes. You really just want to thoroughly enjoy this experience from start to finish.
